[March 25, 2014]  LINCOLN — James D. Jario, 91, of Lincoln, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at his home.

Lincoln- James D. Jario, 91, of Lincoln passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at his home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln with Rev. Simon Taabu officiating.

A Rosary Service will be held at 9:45 a.m. prior to the visitation.

Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #263 of Lincoln.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at rural Lincoln at a later date.

James D. Jario was born on September 13, 1922 in New York, New York the son of Domenick and Mary Palermo Jario. He was united in marriage on April 11, 1945 to Johnnie Belle Brunson. She preceded him in death on Monday, March 3, 2014.

He is survived by his children: Pamela M. (Fred) Werth of Mt. Pulaski, Christine D. Logeman of Lincoln. One grandson: James Paul (Chelsea) Logeman of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Funeral Director

James served in the United States 488th Army Air Force during World War II from October 31, 1942 until February 17, 1946 where he earned the rank of Sargeant.

He retired from Eaton-Cutler-Hammer as the manager of traffic, shipping and stock.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, 3rd Degree Knight in Knights of Columbus Council # 1250. Member of Elks Lodge # 914 B.P.O.E.

Memorials may be made to the Elks Golf Course.
