Frances Baker

[March 31, 2014]  MORTON — Frances Elizabeth Baker, 95, of Morton,  formerly of Lincoln, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 7:39 p.m. at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

Morton- Frances Elizabeth Baker, 95, of Morton formerly of Lincoln, passed away at 7:39 P.M. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at A.C. Restmor Nursing Home in Morton.

Frances E. was born on March 31, 1918 in Midland City, IL, daughter of Henry and Wilhelmina Rehwaldt Buchholz. She was united in marriage to Orville A. Baker on February 10, 1940 in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2003. She is survived by her children: Dr Donald (Jo) Baker of Morton; Reanne (David) Shive of Rockford, IL; grandchildren: Kara (Dr. Brad) Johnson of Morton; Valerie (Dr. Marc) Squillante of Peoria; Mark Baker of Morton; Dr. Mari Baker of Morton; Chris (Alyson) Baker of Morton; Pastor Matthew (Susie) Shive of Findlay OH; Reannon (Erick) Doty of Rockford; Janna (Scott) Wedekind of Rockford; and great grandchildren: Brooke Wedekind; Raina Doty; Layla Doty; Emma Shive; Thomas Shive; Hannah Johnson; Sam Johnson; Christian Johnson; Paul Johnson; and Alex Squillante. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and two brothers.

Frances E. worked as a teacher and she farmed a Centennial Farm in West Lincoln with her husband for over 60 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria, Trinity Lutheran Altar Guild, Braille Ministry, South Side Mission, Logan County Home Extension, and Logan County Farm Bureau.

Services for Frances will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria with Pastor Mark Nelson and Pastor Matthew Synnott officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30 A.M. prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Church. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or to the A.C. Restmor Nursing Home. Services were entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
