Heartland's Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Division will recognize
and celebrate the students' art success with a reception and awards
presentation on Monday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The reception is free and
open to the public. The works by student artists were created in
studio art courses at the college and include a wide range of art
media and styles. The exhibition is open to the public during
library hours on days the college is open.
The library is on the first floor of the Student Commons
Building, at Heartland's main campus, 1500 W. Raab Road in Normal.
Library hours are Mondays-Thursdays, 7:30-9:30 a.m.; Fridays, 7:30
a.m.-1 p.m.; Saturdays, noon-5 p.m.; and Sundays, 4-8 p.m.
Artist Gerard Erley juried the exhibition and selected
award-winning artworks. His own exhibition, "Gerard Erley: Landscape
and Floral Paintings," is currently on view in the Joe McCauley
Gallery. Gallery hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Exhibits
and events at the gallery are free.
