with the American Library Association.
Starasta writes book, database and website reviews and is active

Her promotion to the rank of associate professor was the
result of a recommendation process initiated by a committee of
her peers. The provost and dean review requests for faculty
promotion and, upon endorsement, send the committee
recommendation on to the university president for final
approval.
