Millikin to present 'Yankee Tavern' Thursday-Sunday

DECATUR —
The Millikin University Department of Theatre and Dance will present
"Yankee Tavern" by Steven Dietz, beginning Thursday and Friday at
7:30 p.m. and continuing with performances Saturday at 2 and 7:30
p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. The play will be presented in Pipe Dreams
Studio Theatre, at 1099 W. Wood St. in Decatur, at the corner of
Wood Street and Oakwood Avenue. |
Six years after the fall of the twin towers, a young New York tavern
owner and his fiancée find themselves embroiled in a web of chilling
conspiracy theories surrounding the events leading up to that
fateful day in September 2001. As they plan for their future and
await the demolition of the once-thriving Yankee Tavern, a
mysterious stranger reveals a secret that could tear their world
apart.

Tickets are $8 and may be purchased at the box office at Kirkland
Fine Arts Center, by phone at 217-424-6318 or online at
kirklandfinearts.com.
The box office is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and
three hours prior to every Kirkland performance, or one hour prior
to Albert Taylor Theatre performances. A $2.50 fee will be charged
for credit card purchases. This is a per transaction fee, not per
ticket, and applies to online and box office orders.
