Send a link to a friend The tour ends much the way it
began, with a large scene depicting the final breath of a beloved
president. Though not everyone loved Lincoln on the day he
died, in the days, weeks, months and years ahead, they would come
to know him and understand what he suffered, what he accomplished
and how he shaped our country. When Lincoln's
body was brought back to Springfield for burial, the funeral
train carried him through dozens of towns and communities, including
this one. People gathered at the train stations, longing to be
a part of the president's last journey. In Springfield, people
gathered and walked in mourning behind the funeral procession
			through the city.
