Waneta J. Klokkenga, 87, of Emden, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014
at 12:35 a.m. at the Mason City Area Nursing Home. |
Visitation:
Wednesday 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church
in Emden.
Service:
Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church
in Emden.

Obituary
Waneta J. Klokkenga, 87, of Emden, passed away
Monday, May 12, 2014 at 12:35 a.m. at the Mason City
Area Nursing Home.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 5-7
p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 15, 2014 at
11:00 a.m. at St. Pater's Lutheran Church with
Pastor Schurter and Pastor Pieper officiating.
Burial will follow in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.
Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln has
been entrusted with her care.
Waneta was born June 30, 1926 in Lincoln, Il., the
daughter of Perry Clayton and Hulda (Stolz). She
married Marvin Klokkenga on December 2, 1951. He
preceded her in death on May 29, 1981.
Waneta was a homemaker and put every ounce of
herself into caring for her family. She loved them
deeply and taught them how to love unconditionally.
In addition to caring for her own family she worked
part time as a nursing home aide spreading God's
love to the residents and their families. She was a
member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden and a
member of their Ladies Aide.

Surviving are her daughter Priscilla (Sam) Ballance
of Emden, IL.; her son David Klokkenga of Greenview,
IL.; her brother Dean Clayton of Latham, IL.; her
grandchildren: Angela (David) Wulf of McLean, IL.,
Matthew (Brooke) Ballance of Emden, IL., and
Jennifer (Robbie) Musoui of Makanda, IL.; also
surviving are her great grandchildren Morgan and
Brock Musoui, Auggie Wulf, and Brinley Ballance.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her
husband Marvin.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's
Lutheran Church in Emden.
