Send a link to a friend In addition to getting
together for some great food and to talk gardening, the group was
invited to pick up some free plants, and to bring plants of their
			own to trade or donate.
Vinyard said that this year the Lincoln Community High School
Horticulture and Ag classes grew plants for the community gardens,
as well as Josh Hackett and the inmates at one of the correctional
facilities. Bruce Huskins also brought in some of his plants to
share with the others. In addition, Graue Chevrolet donated a stack
of 2014 Almanac’s to the group.

This year the gardeners will also have access to markers for their
plants courtesy of the Lincoln Area YMCA kids. Vinyard said
Sherwin-Williams on the downtown square donated paint stirrers, the
YMCA kids painted them bright colors, and Y staff did the lettering
			on the sticks.

            | These are some of the bird houses that were
donated to the gardens last year. The houses were made by Harold and
Joyce Centers, Mark Leslie, and the LCHS woods class. Materials were
donated by the Centers, R.P. Lumber, Alexander Lumber, and Bill and
Kathy Vinyard. The birdhouses were then painted by students at
Adams, Washington-Monroe and West Lincoln-Broadwell elementary
			schools.
 | Too little to garden, maybe, but this little
gal will surely have fun playing in the dirt while dad and mom work.
