							LINCOLN- Betty L. Gehlbach, 84, of Lincoln died at 
							12:14 a.m. May 26, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center, 
							Springfield.
 Betty was born March 28, 1930 in Lincoln, the 
							daughter of Merlin B. and Beulah Loraine White 
							Purkey. She married William P. Gehlbach September 
							12, 1948 in Lincoln. He preceded her in death 
							September 17, 2012.
 
 Betty is survived by her children: Linda (Terry) 
							Leslie, of Lincoln; Phillip (Becky) Gehlbach of 
							Lincoln; Tom Gehlbach (Van Van Winkle) of 
							Minneapolis, MN; and Michael (Betsy) Gehlbach of 
							Libertyville; eight grandchildren; five 
							great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. 
							She is the last of her immediate family.

							Betty was a homemaker and office manager for 
							Gehlbach Construction. She was a member of St. John 
							United Church of Christ; bell choir, Charity Guild, 
							Christian Seekers and had served on the church 
							council. She had served on the City Planning 
							Commission for eleven years and she had served as 
							president of Home Extension. 
 Betty chose to be cremated. A one hour visitation 
							will be held prior to service. A joint memorial 
							service for William (Bill) and Betty will be held at 
							2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln with 
							Rev. Jan Johnson officiating. An inurnment of ashes 
							will be held at Zion Cemetery at a later date. 
							Memorials may be given in her name to St. John 
							United Church of Christ.
