[November 03, 2014]  Nov 2 (The Sports Xchange) - Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is close to reaching a plea deal on his child abuse case in Texas, ESPN reported Sunday.

According to the report, Peterson and his lawyers have been negotiating a deal, which could be completed by Tuesday.

It is not known what effect the deal would have on his playing status. Peterson has been on paid leave since his arrest. Officially, he is on the commissioner's exempt list.

The Detroit Lions sent defensive tackle C.J. Mosley home from London and suspended him two weeks because he was smoking marijuana, ESPN reported.

The Lions only said a week ago that Mosley was being disciplined for violating team rules.

The Washington Redskins' team bus was in an accident as it traveled to TCF Bank Stadium for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. No players were injured, and the Redskins were transferred to another bus, according to reports.

The bus hit the team's second bus, and the only reported injury was to the leg of an escorting officer, according to NFL.com.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback was on the inactive list for Sunday's game against Arizona due to a back injury.

Romo suffered two fractures in his transverse process - a small bone that sticks out of either side of the vertebrae - when he took a big hit during Monday night's loss to the Washington Redskins, according to reports.

Quarterback Robert Griffin III returned to the Washington Redskins' starting lineup Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Griffin has been out since dislocating an ankle against the Jacksonville Jaguars the second game of the season. Nonetheless, the Redskins lost 29-26.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles suffered an injury to his shoulder that forced him to leave Sunday's game in the first quarter.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that it was a clavicle injury, although the severity of the injury and whether Foles will miss additional games was unknown. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
