TV: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Saturday, 11 p.m.-3 a.m.
EST (in the United States), on the Golf Channel each day.
LAST YEAR: Dustin Johnson, who will not defend his title because he
is taking a break from golf to deal with personal issues, played a
stretch of the back nine in 5 under par while closing with a 6-under
66 to win by three strokes over Ian Poulter. Johnson claimed the
eighth and perhaps biggest victory of his PGA Tour career, winning
for the seventh consecutive season -- which became the longest
active streak on the circuit when Phil Mickelson's streak ended this
year at 10. Johnson, who set a tournament record at 24-under 264,
began the final round with a three-shot lead and lost it in two
holes as Poulter started fast in another round of 66. Johnson
regained the lead when he pitched in for eagle on the 16th hole and
holed an 8-foot birdie putt at No. 17.
PGA TOUR: Sanderson Farms Championship at the Country Club of
Jackson in Jackson, Miss., Thursday through Sunday.
TV: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 2-5 p.m. EST, on the Golf
Channel each day.
LAST YEAR: Woody Austin sank an 8-foot birdie putt on the first
playoff hole to turn back Cameron Beckman and Daniel Summerhays at
Annandale Country Club in Madison, Miss., where the tournament was
played for 20 seasons before moving to Jackson this year. The
49-year-old Austin became the eighth-oldest winner in PGA Tour
history and the oldest since Fred Funk won at age 50 in 2007. Austin
came from two strokes behind by shooting 5-under-par 67 in the final
round and claimed his fourth PGA Tour victory, but the first since
the 2007 Stanford St. Jude Championship. He earned a two-year
exemption on the PGA Tour, or until he turns 50 next year and is
eligible for the Champions Tour. Beckman missed a 5-foot birdie putt
that would have prolonged the playoff.

any other pro circuit in eight years of trying. She won by two
strokes over Chella Choi of South Korea. The 25-year-old Lu, a
regular on the Japan LPGA Tour after giving up her LPGA membership
in 2010, closed with an 8-under 64 in windy, wet conditions. Lu was
tied for the lead with Choi, who closed with a 66, before sinking a
10-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole and wrapping up the victory
with a 12-footer on the final hole.
