There are many ways to tell a story,
and Behind the Scenes at the Atlanta Public Library continues on November 14
with singer/songwriter Brian Davis who will help us celebrate Say it with a
Story Month. In an evening of Song Stories, Brian will perform his own
original songs, as well as other great songs that tell a story. |
The musical story-telling event takes place at
the Palms Grill Café beginning with refreshments at 6:30PM. The
program follows at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Library in
advance or at the door on the evening of the event.
Many may remember Brian from his appearance with the band, Something
With Trees at our September 2012 MusicFest. Brian started playing
guitar when he was 18, deciding shortly afterward that what he
really wanted to do was write songs. He has made two recordings of
his work, and over the past two years has continued to write and
perform. He performed with Something with Trees in 2011 and 2012,
and when the band split up to pursue individual interests, Brian
renewed his interest in solo work. Using his experience of studying
and writing fiction as his backdrop, Brian released his latest
album, Lesser Tragedies, under the moniker "A Metropolitan Guide" on
April 29, 2013.

Brian is also a writer who has just completed a book on
gaming. He is now working on his first novel. Word has it that he once had a
parallel life as a popular sports blogger, writing out the Bears and
Cubs....we'll have to ask him about that, too!

Month is sponsored by Collins Roofing. |
