[November 05, 2014]  LINCOLN - The Lincoln Christian University (LCU) Red Lions finished their regular season Tuesday night with a decisive home win over Saint Louis College of Pharmacy (SLCP) 25-15, 27-25, 25-14. With only the second set ever in doubt, LCU controlled the pace and dominated the net with little opposition on Senior night in the Laughlin Center

Prior to the game, the volleyball coaching staff acknowledged the careers and contributions of Alicia Carson (SR/Bloomingdale, MI) and Emma Recker (SR/Clinton, IL). The two seniors were both NCCAA All-Americans last year and have continued their outstanding performances into their final year at LCU. Gifts from their teammates, flowers and the love of the crowd were heaped upon them as they stood with their families who came to celebrate the evening with them.

LCU won the first set handily, but gave away some momentum to the Eutectics from SLCP in the second set as it went out to 27-25 for a decision. After a prolonged break to celebrate the induction of Christen Owen (O'Malley) into the LCU athletic hall of fame, the LCU Red Lions dominated a weary and sluggish SLCP team to seal the victory for the seniors.

Carson led the attack this evening, as she does most nights, with 15 kills and pair of blocks. Libero Recker held the back line with 18 digs.
