Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist stopped 33 shots for his third shutout
of the season as the New York Rangers ended the Pittsburgh Penguins'
seven-game winning streak in convincing fashion in a 5-0 victory at
Madison Square Garden.
First-period goals from left winger Mats Zuccarello, right winger
Martin St. Louis and defenseman Kevin Klein gave the Rangers an
early stranglehold.
Center Derick Brassard added a power-play goal in the second period
and right winger Rick Nash scored his league-leading 12th goal
midway through the third period.
Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury received little help and
stopped 30 of 35 shots to suffer his first loss since Oct. 22.

Islanders 6, Avalanche 0
Six different players scored for the New York Islanders while goalie
Jaroslav Halak notched his second successive shutout in a 6-0 win
over Colorado at Nassau Coliseum.
Defensemen Nick Leddy and Travis Hamonic, left winger Nikolai
Kulemin and centers Casey Cizikas, Anders Lee and Ryan Strome scored
for New York.
Goalie Semyon Varlamov made 40 saves for Colorado.

Blues 6, Sabres 1
Center Jori Lehtera recorded his first career hat-trick to lead the
St. Louis to a win over the struggling Buffalo.
The Blues won for the eighth time in their last nine games while
handing the Sabres their fourth consecutive loss, dropping them to
an NHL-worst 3-12-2.
Despite outshooting the Blues 15-10 in the first period, and killing
off two penalties, the Sabres still found themselves down 1-0 as
they failed to score a goal in the first period for the 13th
consecutive game with their best chance when center Zemgus
Girgensons was stopped on a breakaway by Elliott.

Devils 3, Wild 1
Mike Cammalleri and Tuomo Ruutu each scored a goal in the second
period and Cory Schneider rebounded from some poor performances,
leading New Jersey to a victory over Minnesota.
Center Travis Zajac also scored an empty-net goal for New Jersey
while Schneider made 23 saves.
Center Ryan Carter scored for Minnesota and goalie Darcy Kuemper
made 20 saves in the loss.

Capitals 4, Blue Jackets 2
Left wingers Alex Ovechkin and Marcus Johansson scored two goals
each and centers Nicklas Backstrom and Andre Burakovsky both added a
two assists to lead Washington to a win over Columbus.
Goaltender Braden Holtby added 24 saves for Washington while his
Columbus counterpart, Curtis McElhinney, stopped 28.
Defenseman David Savard and right winger Cam Atkinson scored for
Columbus, which has not won since Oct. 23.

Panthers 4, Sharks 1
Florida broke a three-game losing streak, defeating San Jose at the
BB&T Center.
Centers Aleksander Barkov and Derek MacKenzie and right winger Jimmy
Hayes all scored their second goals of the season for Florida. In
addition, slumping left winger Tomas Fleischmann got his first goal
of the season while goalie Roberto Luongo made 21 saves.
San Jose center Joe Thornton's scored while Antti Niemi made 26
saves in the loss.

Canadiens 3, Jets 0
Lars Eller, Alex Galchenyuk and center Tomas Plekanec all scored for
Montreal in their victory over Winnipeg.
Carey Price made 29 saves for Montreal to earn his first shutout of
the season while Ondrej Pavelec stopped 24 shots for Winnipeg.

Predators 3, Oilers 2
Nashville continued their surprising early-season success with a win
over Edmonton sparked by a first period blitz with centers Matt
Cullen, Filip Forsberg and Mike Ribeiro finding the back of the net.
Goalkeeper Pekka Rinne also notched 21 saves.
Edmonton goalie Viktor Fasth saved 14 of 17 shots in a busy first
period before he was replaced by Ben Scrivens, who stopped all 18
shots he faced.
Benoit Pouliot and Nail Yakupov scored Edmonton's goals. (Editing By
