[November 13, 2014]  Nov 12 (The Sports Xchange) - Shaun Hill was named the starting quarterback for the St. Louis Rams, who are sending Austin Davis back to the bench with the Denver Broncos coming to town Sunday.

Hill is 8 of 13 with one sack and one interception this season.

The Seattle Seahawks placed Zach Miller on injured reserve with the tight end headed for a second surgery on his injured ankle.

Miller is the second Seattle starter lost for the season in as many days, as the Seahawks placed defensive tackle Brandon Mebane on IR on Tuesday.

The New York Giants placed running back Michael Cox on season-ending injured reserve with a broken leg and signed running back Orleans Darkwa off the Miami Dolphins' practice squad Wednesday.

Cox suffered a fractured lower leg after catching a short pass on the Giants' final offensive possession in their 38-17 loss against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson thinks it is time to make some noise about quarterback Robert Griffin III.

As the Redskins prepare for Sunday's visit by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jackson took it upon himself to defend Griffin's leadership and role in the locker room. That leadership was criticized in an ESPN report Sunday morning before the Redskins lost to the Minnesota Vikings 29-26.

"I just felt it was needed," Jackson said.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers promoted cornerback C.J. Wilson from the practice squad to the active roster Wednesday.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who threw six touchdown passes to tie an NFL record for a half in the blowout win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday night, was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Baltimore Ravens running back Justin Forsett rushed for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 21-7 win over the Tennessee Titans to win the AFC offensive award.

The Minnesota Vikings re-signed tight end Ryan Otten to the team's practice squad Wednesday.

The 6-foot-6, 241-pound Otten was waived from the Vikings' practice squad on Nov. 3. He spent most of the 2013 season on the San Diego Chargers' practice squad. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
