[November 18, 2014]  Nov 17 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Monday's National Basketball Association Games.

Grizzlies 119, Rockets 93

The Memphis Grizzlies emphatically defended their home court at FedExForum with a 119-93 victory over the Houston Rockets in a battle of the top teams in the West.

Memphis (10-1) led by as many as 36 points in the fourth quarter and finished with its largest margin of victory this season.

Houston (9-2) never pulled closer than 20 points after halftime.

Point guard Mike Conley led the Grizzlies with 19 points and six assists while forward Trevor Ariza paced Houston with 16 points.

Nuggets 106, Cavaliers 97

Arron Afflalo had a season-high 23 points, guard Ty Lawson had 24 points and 12 assists and the Denver Nuggets ended the Cleveland Cavaliers' four-game winning streak with a 106-97 victory on the road.

The Nuggets (3-7) led throughout the second half as the Cavs (5-4) struggled with forward LeBron James battling a head cold, limiting him to 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Mavericks 107, Hornets 80

Guard Monta Ellis scored 18 points and forward Chandler Parsons added 17 points and nine rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks routed the Charlotte Hornets 107-80.

The Mavericks rolled to a 24-point halftime lead by shooting 61.9 percent from the field, then led by as many as 33 in the second half before resting their starters the entire fourth quarter.

Dallas (8-3) earned its fourth consecutive win while Charlotte (4-7) has lost four of its past five.

Magic 107, Pistons 93

Nikola Vucevic powered for 25 points and 14 rebounds, and the Orlando Magic defeated the Detroit Pistons and their former coach Stan Van Gundy 107-93.

Magic forward Tobias Harris scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half to spoil Van Gundy's first game against the team he coached for five seasons.

Shooting guard Evan Fournier supplied 14 points and eight assists for Orlando (5-7) while reserve forward Caron Butler led the Pistons (3-8) with 20 points.

Suns 118, Celtics 114

The Phoenix Suns blew double-digit leads in both halves but still pulled out a 118-114 victory over the Boston Celtics.

The Suns (6-5) led by 13 points in the first half, lost the lead and then led by 14 in the second half, and lost it.
 


But guard Eric Bledsoe stole an Avery Bradley pass and scored, breaking a 114-114 tie with 29.5 seconds left.

Suns forward Markieff Morris scored a career-high 30 points as the Celtics suffered their third straight tough home loss to fall to 3-6.

Heat 95, Nets 83

Guard Mario Chalmers scored 22 points, and the short-handed Miami Heat dominated the second half en route to a 95-83 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

Center Chris Bosh contributed 15 points and nine rebounds for Miami, which outscored Brooklyn 57-40 in the second half.

Rookie forward Bojan Bogdanovic tied a career high with 22 points for the Nets, who dropped their fourth straight.

Spurs 100, 76ers 75

With neither Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili nor Tony Parker logging more than 18 minutes, the San Antonio Spurs defeated Philadelphia 100-75 for their fourth victory in the last five games.

The 76ers, meanwhile, fell to 0-10.

Spurs (6-4) forward Matt Bonner led the team with 18 points in 20 minutes.

Trail Blazers 102, Pelicans 93

Portland outscored New Orleans 34-13 in the fourth quarter to erase a 15-point deficit and escape with a 102-93 victory.

Guard Damian Lillard scored 24 points and dished out seven assists as the Trail Blazers (8-3) won their fifth straight game. Forward LaMarcus Aldridge added 22 points with nine rebounds for the Blazers.

Forward Anthony Davis collected 31 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocked shots for the Pelicans (5-4).

Bulls 105, Clippers 89

Guard Jimmy Butler scored 22 points and forward Taj Gibson added 20 as the Chicago Bulls defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 105-89.

Despite playing without the injured Pau Gasol (left calf strain) and point guard Derrick Rose (hamstring), Chicago (8-3) dictated in the second half and snapped a four-game losing streak to Los Angeles (5-4) to be 6-0 on the road this season.

Guard Jamal Crawford led the Clippers with 24 points and forward Blake Griffin scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
