Obituary
Eldon Leonard Hawks, 92, of Lincoln passed away
November 16, 2014 at his residence. Holland Barry
and Bennett Funeral Home has been entrusted with his
care.
A visitation will be held Thursday, November 20,
2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Full Gospel Tabernacle in
Lincoln with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. also at
the church with Rev. Steve Owens offiating. Burial
will follow at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Eldon was born March 27, 1922 in Arnold's Park, IL.,
the son of Albert Logan Hawks and Elizabeth Mary
(Shoemaker) Hawks. He married Dorothy Ellen
(Dennison) Smith June 11, 1988 in Lincoln. She
survives. Also surviving are his daughters Mary
Garcia of Joiet, IL and Glayds (Carl) Patrick of
Westmont, IL, his sisters-in-law Elizabeth (David)
Jackson and Jill Gardner both of Williamsville, IL,
a brother-in-law Roger (Mary Joan) Dennison of
Elkhart, IL, four grandchildren, eleven great
grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He
was preceded in death by his parents, a son Dennis
Hawks, a daughter Cheryl Rosson, and two sisters
Gladys and Eleanor.

Mr. Hawks was employed as a welder for General
Motors for 28 years.
Memorial donations may be made to Full Gospel
Tabernacle and will be received at Holland Barry and
Bennett Funeral Home.
