Obituary
Lincoln-Rod Malerich, 64, of Lincoln passed away on
Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 8:15 p.m. at Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.
Funeral Services for Rod Malerich will be held on
Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the
Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln with Rev. Jeffrey G.
Laible officiating.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014
from 5:00p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peasley Funeral
Home.
Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lincoln.
Rodney Phillip Malerich was born on January 15, 1950
in Lincoln the son of James Frederick and Dorothy
Mae Nuckols Malerich. He married Vicki Newingham on
July 5, 2002 in Lincoln. She survives.
Also surviving are his son: Christopher (Chrissy)
Malerich, two daughters: Megan Marie Malerich, Mindy
Lyn Malerich all of Lincoln. two Step daughters:
Heidi (Ronnie) McGee of Chandler, Az., Megan Michele
Chandler of Lincoln, Four grandchildren: Mario
McGee, Mackenzi Chandler, Molly Malerich, Ryley
Correll. Two brothers: James Edward (Karen) Malerich
of Howe, Indiana , Greg Malerich of Bloomington. |
Rod graduated from Lincoln Community High School and
attended Illinois State University.
He retired from the City of Lincoln Street and Alley
Department after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge # 2708 and
Knights of Columbus Council # 1250.
Rod's hobby's were golfing, hunting and riding his
Harley Davison Motorcycle with his friends.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's
choice.
