NHL game roundup: Ryan lifts Sens past Blues in shootout

[November 26, 2014]  ST. LOUIS -- Right winger Bobby Ryan scored the only goal in the shootout, lifting the Ottawa Senators to a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night.

Goalie Robin Lehner stopped all three St. Louis shots in the shootout from right winger T.J. Oshie, left winger Alexander Steen and right winger Vladimir Tarasenko.

Blues goaltender Jake Allen stopped the first two Ottawa shooters, center Kyle Turris and left wing Mike Hoffman, before Ryan was able to score the game-winner and complete the Senators' comeback from a 2-0 deficit.

Ottawa sent the game to overtime with two goals in the third period by right wingers Alex Chiasson and Erik Condra.

Defenseman Ian Cole and left winger Alexander Steen scored for the Blues

Predators 4, Kings 3 (SO)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Left winger James Neal scored the shootout's only goal in the sixth round as Nashville knocked off Los Angeles at sold-out Bridgestone Arena.

Center Craig Smith, defenseman Ryan Ellis and left winger Eric Nystrom scored in regulation for Nashville while defenseman Jamie McBain, right winger Marian Gaborik and defenseman Drew Doughty scored for Los Angeles.

Goaltender Martin Jones finished with 30 saves with Los Angeles while Nashville's Pekka Rinne managed 18.

Jets 4, Blue Jackets 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Winnipeg center Bryan Little scored nine seconds into the game, sending his team off and running to a win over Columbus at Nationwide Arena.

Left winger Evander Kane scored two goals for Winnipeg, while Little and left winger Andrew Ladd each had a goal and an assist. Defenseman Jacob Trouba and right winger Blake Wheeler had two assists apiece.

Columbus got goals from defenseman Jordan Leopold and center Ryan Johansen, but they lost their fourth straight game and fell to 2-11-2 since Oct. 23.

Stars 3, Oilers 2

DALLAS -- Center Tyler Seguin had two goals and defenseman John Klingberg a goal and an assist as Dallas defeated Edmonton at American Airlines Center.

Both Seguin's goals came in the second period, increasing his league-leading total to 17.

Edmonton got goals from center Boyd Gordon while shorthanded late in the first period and center Taylor Hall early in the third.

Avalanche 4, Coyotes 3 (OT)

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Colorado center Daniel Briere was credited with the game-winning goal in overtime when his centering pass bounced off Arizona center Martin Hanzal to win at the Gila River Arena.

Goaltender Calvin Pickard, who replaced starter Reto Berra after the Coyotes took their 3-0 lead in the first 10:53, had 26 saves in 53 minutes.

Center Antoine Vermette, defenseman Michael Stone and Tobias Rieder scored in regulation for Arizona while left winger Gabriel Landeskog scored twice and center Matt Duchene onece for Colorado.

Ducks 3, Flames 2

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Goaltender Frederik Andersen made 32 saves, leading Anaheim past Calgary.

Flames goalie Jonas Hiller stopped 26 shots.

The Ducks got goals from right wingers Kyle Palmieri and Corey Perry and left winger Matt Beleskey, who also contributed an assist. Defenseman T.J. Brodie and right winger Jiri Hudler scored for Calgary.

After the Ducks went up 3-0 after two periods, Calgary got two back in the third period but couldn't manage an equalizer.

Canucks 2, Devils 0

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Ryan Miller earned his 14th win in 17 games this season, and Vancouver beat New Jersey.

Miller's second shutout of the season kept him tied with Nashville's Pekka Rinne, who also won Tuesday, for the league lead in goaltender victories.

Vancouver right winger Alex Burrows' second-period goal stood up as the winner. Center Shawn Matthias, with his third of the season, added an insurance goal on a short-handed breakaway with 5:23 to play in the third period.
