Toby Hegner added 13 points and all 13 players that saw the floor
for Creighton scored as the Bluejays (5-0) shot 51.9 percent from
the field. Austin Chatman added seven points and six assists while
James Milliken chipped in seven points and 10 rebounds off the
bench.
Chris Olivier and Trae Anderson each scored nine points to lead the
way for Eastern Illinois (1-4), which shot 6-of-19 from 3-point
range. Reggie Smith added eight points for the Panthers.
Creighton led by four midway through the first half when the
Panthers went cold, scoring just six points in the final 12:16.
During that stretch, Groselle tallied 10 points and Hegner added
five as the Bluejays went on a closing 21-6 flourish to take a
19-point halftime lead.
It was much of the same in the second half as Eastern Illinois
scored six points in the first six-plus minutes of the period as
Creighton forged a 29-point advantage. The lead grew to as much as
33 before Bluejays coach Greg McDermott started clearing his bench.
