Last week city of Lincoln aldermen and Mayor Keith Snyder discussed what to do with the rail cars that are currently attached to the Lincoln Depot train station. As a part of the restoration plan, the cars need to be removed from the original building. Snyder said the cars needed to be treated as surplus equipment and proper procedures need to be followed for their disposal. Currently, the village of Emden has expressed an interest in one caboose. Snyder indicated there have been other interested parties contact him about the cars, but to date, no agreements have been made. Photo from LDN archives (Click on image for larger version.) |
