			Olympia FFA Alumni Chapter News

            LINCOLN - The Olympia High School FFA 
			Alumni Chapter held its first meeting of the new school year on 
			September 8th. Officers for this year are as follows: President 
			Sharon Hartzold of Standford, Vice president Jason Miller of 
			Atlanta, Secretary-treasurer Michelle Ott of Danvers, and Reporter 
			Kyle Haning of Delavan. | 
        
            | 
			 The group welcomed a new Vo-Ag teacher for this 
			school year. Kathryn Justus will be replacing Emma Meyer. Meyer 
			resigned her position at the end of the last school year to take a 
			new position with the Downs Tri-Valley High School. Justus, 
			currently of Minier, is a Central Illinois native who was raised on 
			a farm near Normal. 
 In regular business, Michelle Ott gave the secretary and treasurer 
			reports, followed by a discussion of old business.
 
 For new business Sharon Hartzold gave a report on some of the 
			different activities that the alumni may become involved with this 
			school year.
 
			
			 
			Ott discussed the recent pork chop and rib eye sandwich sales. The 
			alumni are offering the sandwiches at the school home football 
			games. Ott also talked about a report she had received from Justus 
			regarding future FFA student activities.

			 Justus discussed classroom activities for this year’s 
				Agriculture students. Also on hand for the meeting was this 
				year’s FFA student president; Rachel Koch. Koch shared with the 
				alumni a list of goals that have been established by the FFA 
				Officer Team for this school year.
 A tentative date of February 6 was set for this year’s annual 
				silent auction and pork chop dinner. The fundraiser event will 
				be held during the sophomore and varsity boys’ basketball game 
				against Normal University High School.
