[October 04, 2014]  LINCOLN - The Olympia High School FFA Alumni Chapter held its first meeting of the new school year on September 8th. Officers for this year are as follows: President Sharon Hartzold of Standford, Vice president Jason Miller of Atlanta, Secretary-treasurer Michelle Ott of Danvers, and Reporter Kyle Haning of Delavan.

The group welcomed a new Vo-Ag teacher for this school year. Kathryn Justus will be replacing Emma Meyer. Meyer resigned her position at the end of the last school year to take a new position with the Downs Tri-Valley High School. Justus, currently of Minier, is a Central Illinois native who was raised on a farm near Normal.

In regular business, Michelle Ott gave the secretary and treasurer reports, followed by a discussion of old business.

For new business Sharon Hartzold gave a report on some of the different activities that the alumni may become involved with this school year.

Ott discussed the recent pork chop and rib eye sandwich sales. The alumni are offering the sandwiches at the school home football games. Ott also talked about a report she had received from Justus regarding future FFA student activities.
