Illinois Raptor Center's Owl Prowl will feature
new Snowy Owl

The public is invited to meet "Yeti" at the Illinois Raptor Center's
annual Owl Prowl on Saturday, October 11, 2014, from 6:30 p.m. – 9
p.m. |
"Yeti", the IRC's newest education Snowy Owl resident just came
to Decatur from Canada. She will be presented for the first time at
the Owl Prowl. Other residents featured during the evening include a
Great Horned Owl, Barred Owl, Barn Owl, and a Short-eared Owl -
along with both grey and red morph Eastern Screech Owls.
The evening starts at the IRC education pavilion where participants
will meet several of the owls. Then participants will hike to the
Sangamon floodplain to call in the wild resident owls. The
presentation concludes at the IRC nature center and ends with a
question and answer session and refreshments.
Those attending should wear weather appropriate clothing and bring
flashlights. Doors open at 6:15 PM. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for
students and children 6 and under are free. Seating is limited,

Proceeds from this event go to feed and care for orphaned and
injured wildlife at the IRC wildlife hospital.
