			 Lightning 7, Canadiens 1
Steven Stamkos recorded his eighth career hat-trick and defenseman
Victor Hedman played a part in four goals as the Tampa Bay Lightning
handed the Montreal Canadiens their first loss of the season.

Stamkos, who had no goals in Tampa Bay's (2-0-1) first two games,
scored the Lightning's second goal Monday on a wide shot with 10:09
			left in the opening period.

He scored again on a breakaway with 6:45 left in the second, then
added a power-play goal five minutes later for a 4-1 lead.

Hedman, who opened the scoring with his third goal in as many games,
collected assists on the next three. Right winger Nikita Kucherov
			contributed two assists.

The Canadiens (3-1-0) came in as the NHL's first 3-0 team, following
two shootout wins, but Tampa Bay (2-0-1) never let the game get that
			close.

Anderson, an ex-Panther, is now 11-2-1 against his former team. He
got his 27th career shutout and beat Roberto Luongo, who has started
all three of the Panthers games this season and has yet to win
			(0-2-1).
Coach Gerard Gallant, in his first season with the Panthers, is
still looking for his first win -- and that includes six exhibition
			games.

 Ottawa improved to 2-1-0.

 Avalanche 2, Bruins 1

Daniel Briere scored on a rebound with less than a second to play to
lift Colorado to their first win of the season.

The goal was also the 300th goal of Briere's NHL career.

Jamie McGinn scored for Colorado in the second period where Boston's
Loui Eriksson tied the score on a power-play.

The Avs, who got 27 saves from goaltender Reto Berra, have not lost
in Boston since 1998, chalking up eight wins and a tie since.

The loss was the third straight for the Bruins (1-3), who have
scored four goals in four games.
