June Executive/Economic Development Meeting

[October 15, 2014]  LINCOLN - Logan County Safety Complex, June 9, 2014

Present: David Hepler-Chairman; Bob Farmer; Rick Aylesworth; Chuck Ruben; Gene Rohlfs
Absent: Kevin Bateman
Guests: Abbey Freese

Mr. Hepler called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

A motion was made by Mr. Rohlfs, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to approve the minutes from the May 19, 2014 meeting as printed. Motion passed.

Old Business

Wind farms: Mr. Hepler reported the options have been converted to leases. They are also moving forward with the substation. It appears Sugar Creek One is still on the path to fruition.

New Business

LLEDP report: Mr. Ruben reported he and Mr. Farmer have been in discussions with the Partnership regarding their intentions surrounding the Unified Organization Committee proposal. Mr. Farmer reported he intends to appoint Bill Thomas to the CEDS committee, to replace the vacancy left with the passing of Bill Martin.

Economic Development referendum: This topic refers to a possible ballot question to receive revenues for Logan County to continue independently with economic development. Mr. Hepler indicated if this option is desired, it must be done in July to be on the November ballot. Mr. Ruben suggested it could be held off on until the spring ballot.

Job Performance evaluation – Board Secretary: A motion was made by Mr. Ruben, seconded by Mr. Rohlfs, to enter closed session pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2c1 – Personnel Matters. Roll call vote taken 5 yes 0 no. Entered closed session at 7:02 pm. Returned to open session at 7:08 p.m.

A motion was made by Mr. Aylesworth, seconded by Mr. Ruben, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting ended at 7:28 p.m.
