Stars 3, Devils 2 (SO)
The Dallas Stars recorded their first shootout win of the season
when they beat the New Jersey Devils.
Left winger Jamie Benn and center Jason Spezza scored for Dallas
(3-1-3) in the shootout, while Dallas goaltender Kari Lehtonen
stopped New Jersey wingers Mike Cammalleri and Jaromir Jagr to seal
the win.
Dallas, which did not allow a power play opportunity the entire
game, got second-period goals from Benn and right winger Patrick
Eaves.

Ducks 4, Blue Jackets 1
The Anaheim Ducks stretched their winning streak to seven games when
they beat the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Defensemen Sami Vatanen, center Ryan Getzlaf and right winger Corey
Perry each contributed a goal and an assist.
Rookie goaltender John Gibson allowed just one goal, a wonky puck
that fluttered in off an Anaheim defender.

Lightning 4, Jets 2
Left winger Jonathan Drouin scored the first goal of his NHL career
to spark the Tampa Bay Lightning to victory over the Winnipeg Jets.
The 19-year-old third overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft beat
Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec at 4:45 of the second period as the
Lightning went ahead 2-0.
Center Steven Stamkos also scored his sixth goal of the year as the
Lightning (5-2-1) notched their third win in four games on their
five-game road trip.

Avalanche 7, Canucks 3
Jarome Iginla had two goals and an assist, center Matt Duchene had a
goal and two assists and the Colorado Avalanche routed the Vancouver
Canucks.
Defenseman Erik Johnson also had a goal and an assist for the
Avalanche, who won for the first time on home ice this season and
welcomed back goaltender Semyon Varlamov.
Varlamov missed three games with a groin injury that landed him on
injured reserve. He had a shaky start but settled down to stop 26
shots.

Oilers 6, Hurricanes 3
The Edmonton Oilers won three straight games for the first time
since January, at the expense of a Carolina Hurricanes team that has
not won a game all season.
But it was not easy for the Oilers, who scored the final three goals
for a somewhat flattering final score.
Edmonton rookie center Leon Draisaitl notched his first NHL career
goal with 7:05 left in the third period to give the Oilers the lead
for good against the Hurricanes (0-5-2), who faded late in their
third road game in four days. (Editing by Andrew Both/Sudipto
