[October 27, 2014]  Oct 26 (The Sports Xchange) - The Columbus Blue Jackets activated goaltender Curtis McElhinney and defenseman Ryan Murray off injured reserve and assigned goaltender Anton Forsberg and forward Alexander Wennberg to Springfield of the AHL Sunday.

McElhinney sustained an upper body injury in his season debut at the Ottawa Senators on Oct. 18 after stopping 15 of 17 shots in 27 minutes.

McElhinney, 31, is 29-37-5 with a 2.98 goals-against average, .902 save percentage and four shutouts in 98 NHL games. Last season, he was 10-11-1 with a 2.70 goals-against average, .909 save percentage and one shutout in 28 games with Columbus.

Murray, 21, made his season debut Sunday against the Los Angeles Kings after being sidelined due to offseason knee surgery. He had four goals and 17 assists with four penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating in 66 games in his first NHL season in 2013-14.

Blue Jackets right wing Cam Atkinson did not play Sunday because of a cut suffered near his right eye off the skate of Anaheim center Ryan Kesler in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Ducks.

The Boston Bruins assigned defenseman Joe Morrow to Providence of the AHL. In five games with Providence this season, Morrow has one goal and one assist.

The Toronto Maple Leafs assigned defenseman Stuart Percy to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.

Percy, 21, has three assists and two penalty minutes in seven regular season games with the Maple Leafs this season.

Los Angeles Kings center Anze Kopitar suffered an upper-body injury and did not return for the third period. Right wing Marian Gaborik missed his fifth game with an upper-body injury. (Editing by Gene Cherry)
