[September 03, 2014]  PETERSBURG - Troy Dean Talkington, 46, of Petersburg, passed away August 26, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home

Obituary

Troy Dean Talkington, 46, of Petersburg, passed away August 26, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday also at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.

Troy was born November 8, 1967 in Jacksonville, the son of Gary and Patsy (Woolsey) Talkington. He married Pamela Beck on September 23, 1995 in Lincoln.

He was employed at Eaton in Petersburg and Lincoln for 15 years. He attended Open Arms Christian Fellowship in Lincoln and Salisbury Baptist Church. Troy enjoyed fishing and hunting, mushroom hunting, handy man work, and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid Raiders fan and a St. Louis Cardinal fan. He was a drummer and was a member of the Flatbush band. He loved animals, especially his canine companion Warrior and his pet raccoon, Baby Girl. Troy was a wonderful husband and father and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his parents Gary and Patsy Talkington of Middletown; his wife Pamela Talkington of Petersburg; his children Sara (Trevon) Dunn of Aledo and Reese Talkington of Petersburg, grandchildren Tatum and Haven Dunn of Aledo; brother Terry Talkington of Mason City and sister Tammy (Rich) Pourchot of Emden.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
