Obituary
Annabelle Boyd, 86 of Lincoln went Home to be with
her Lord on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at The
Christian Village surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, September
7, 2014 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home,
Lincoln, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held at
10 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at LifePointe
Church of God, Lincoln, IL. with Pastor Doug Bowers
and Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe officiating. Burial will
follow in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Following
graveside services there will be a time of food and
fellowship at Jefferson Street Christian Church.
Annabelle was born March 6, 1928 in Mt. Vernon, IL.,
the daughter of Howard and Melva (Neal) Brown.
She was a long time member of LifePointe Church of
God where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Annabelle became a beloved member of the Christian
Village family in her nine years as a resident
there. She was watched over with loving care by her
daughter JoAnn and her granddaughter Angie and they
became a beloved part of the Village as well. She
retired from Lincoln Developmental Center as the
Dietary Supervisor in 1990 after more than 20 years
of service. She was a former AFSCME Union Steward.
She enjoyed writing poetry and had a passion for
BINGO. Her greatest passion in life was her family.
She loved her grandchildren unconditionally and made
sure to tell them as often as she could. |
Surviving are her children: Arthur Hofer (wife
Gloria) of Decatur, IL., JoAnn Washam (husband
Bucky) of Lincoln, IL., and Alan Boyd of
Springfield, IL.; her sisters: Alta Mae Childers of
Mt. Vernon, IL, Geraldine Pitts of Savoy, IL., and
Wilma Buchanan of Mt. Vernon, IL. Seven
grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also
survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her
brother Rev. Dale Brown, her brother Jim Brown, and
an infant brother Clyde Brown.
Memorial donations may be made to LifePointe Church
of God and will be accepted at the funeral home.
