2014 Moving Forward Walk/Run Offers Logan County’s Only 10K Option

[September 05, 2014]  LINCOLN - The Abraham Lincoln Healthcare Foundation and Memorial SportsCare at ALMH announced today that an early discount for participants of the Moving Forward 5K/10K Run/Walk ends September 13, 2014. The Run/Walk is scheduled for October 11 at Edward Madigan State Park and will be held rain or shine.

This is a chip-timed and course certified event. Those who register before September 13 will enjoy a discounted registration of $25 for the 5K and $30 for the 10K option. Registration includes a long sleeve dri-fit race shirt and finishers medal. After September 13, the registration fee will increase by $5. Youth 13 and under can register for the 5K or the 10K for only $10. Runners and walkers of all fitness levels and ages can register now online at ALMH.org.

A free 200-yard kid dash will be held at 8:30am offering small prizes for all participants 10 and under. The race begins at 9am. All 5K/10K finishers will earn medals. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in several categories.

I hope that this event encourages people of all fitness levels to get moving forward towards good health,” said Todd Mourning, D.P.T., Physical Therapist and Manager of Rehab Services at ALMH.

The Abraham Lincoln Healthcare Foundation will use proceeds from the Moving Forward 5K/10K Run/Walk to support local wellness programs.

Memorial SportsCare at ALMH is a full-service athletic training program for young athletes and active adults.
