Walter “Earl” Phillips

[September 15, 2014]  MOUNT PULASKI -   Walter “Earl” Phillips, 94, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Visitation: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday prior to the services at the funeral home.

Service: 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski

Obituary

 Walter “Earl” Phillips, 94, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Earl was born on September 22, 1919, in Logan County, son of Carl M. and Matilda Ann Bryson Phillips.  He was united in marriage to Erma M. Ayers on November 26, 1938, in Bowling Green, MO.  She preceded him in death on May 18, 2010. 

Earl is survived by his children: Larry Lee (Sue) Phillips of Escondido, CA; Dan W. (Betty) Phillips of Mount Pulaski; Mary Ann (Thomas) Trago of Mount Pulaski; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Billy E. Phillips, his brothers: William and Millard; and a great granddaughter: Annabelle Phillips. 

Earl served in the Navy during WWII.  He was a member of the Mt. Pulaski Christian Church and he retired as a cabinet maker.

Services for Earl will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski with Mark Weber officiating.  A visitation will be held from 2-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Steenbergen Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Vonderlieth Living Center Activity Fund or Mt. Pulaski Ambulance.
