The Engineering Explorer Post 6 will host its annual
“First Nighter” on Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the
IDOT Central Office, 2300 South Dirksen Parkway, in Springfield.
This is an open-house format to explain the program to both students
			and parents.
The program has been successful in helping students continue their
pursuit in engineering to the college level and as practicing
engineers. The past few years, the Post has been able to offer
scholarship opportunities to students for college. Currently, the
Post has Explorers from throughout central Illinois, including
Athens, Auburn, Beardstown, Carlinville, Chatham, Jacksonville,
Pleasant Plains, Rochester, Springfield and Taylorville.
