Stanley was born on February 18, 1927, in Hartsburg, IL, the son of William and Mollie Arnold Struebing. Stanley was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Phyllis Cross Struebing. He is survived by his three daughters and their husbands: Cathy Cross (Rick) of Minier, Faye Wickliffe (Jim) of Bloomington, and Susanne Struebing (Jim Dornbusch) of Califon, NJ; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. One sister, Doris LeGrand of Springfield, also survives. Stanley was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Struebing of New Holland.

Stanley was a veteran of World War II. He spent his career farming the same property his parents and grandparents farmed. He co-owned and operated the Hartem Bus Service, and was particularly well known for driving the kindergarten route for years. He was an active, lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, the American Legion, and engaged fully in his community. Most of all, he was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He cherished his friends and enjoyed golf, fishing, and spending time with loved ones.

Services for Stanley will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Emden, IL, with Rev. John Schurter and Rev. Frank Pieper officiating. Visitation will be Friday, September 12, at the church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.
