Mount Pulaski - Betty Jane
Holmes, 84, of Mount Pulaski passed away at 7:05
p.m. Saturday evening at Decatur Memorial Hospital
in Decatur.
Betty was born on January 31,
1930 in Lake Fork; daughter of Fred and Hilma
Gaffney Fuiten. She married Charles “Chick” Holmes
on August 28, 1955 in Lincoln. He survives her in
Mount Pulaski.
Also surviving are her two
sons; Steven Holmes of Tallahassee, FL and Scott
Holmes of Mount Pulaski, One sister; Louise Bohn of
Mount Pulaski, six grandchildren and six great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents, two brothers; Robert and Dale Fuiten, and
one infant daughter; Stacey Beth Holmes.
Betty was a member of Mount
Pulaski Christian Church. She was a home maker. She
enjoyed helping others, loved traveling, and playing
cards. |
Services for Betty will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday
September 25, 2014 at Fricke Calvert Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski with Mark Weber
officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to
the service. Burial at Mount Pulaski Cemetery will
follow the service. Memorials may be given to Mt
Pulaski Christian Church.
