Obituary
Martine E. Sheldon, 80, of Springfield died at
Heritage Health, Springfield at 6:30 p.m. September
16, 2014.
Martine was born September 24, 1933 in Springfield,
the daughter of Paul and Rudell Carley Langley. She
married Jackie B. Sheldon August 21, 1952 in
Lincoln. He preceded her in death January 26, 2011.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Martine is survived by two sons: Stuart (Marla)
Sheldon of Naperville, and Keith (Jan) Sheldon of
Morton; six grandchildren; eight great
grandchildren; two sisters: Helen Drake of Delavan;
Carol Gobleman; and one brother: Tom Langley of
Arizona. She was preceded in death by one brother,
Paul Langley Jr.; two sisters, Joyce Adair and
Katherine Peterson.

Martine was a bookkeeper at Lincoln Community High
School and homemaker. She attended First United
Methodist Church of Lincoln.
Services will be held for Martine at 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, September 20, 2014 at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln with
Mike Short officiating. Burial will follow at Zion
Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 9:30 to
11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in her name to the
Parkinson’s Association.
