LCHS Girls Tennis

[September 23, 2014]  LINCOLN - At the Glenwood Invitation held on 9/20/2014, .Lincoln Community High School Girls' #1seed single (Kena Bere) and #2 Seed Single (Melissa Van) both placed Second in the championship matches.

In her first match #1 Singles Kena Bere beat Marena Rosebrock (South East Springfiled) 6-0; 6-0. Kena's second match (against Aliyah Price of Mascoutah High School) was extremely tough and took almost two hours to complete. She eventually won 3-6; 6-6. (10-5) to advance to the championship where she played played Natalie Odin (Glenwood High School) and lost 4-6; 2-6.

In her first match #2 Singles Melissa Van beat Sarah Meidl (Quincy Notre dame) 6-2; 6-0. In her second match she beat Payton Kent (Jacksonville High School) 6-0; 6-0. She then advanced to the championship match where she lost to Anna Lytchakov (Glenwood High school) 0-6; 0-6.
