Detroit Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk has a second-degree
separation of his right shoulder and will be out four to five weeks.
Datsyuk sustained the injury in Detroit's preseason opener against
Pittsburgh on Monday when he was checked into the glass by Penguins
defenseman Rob Scuderi. Datsyuk, who had a goal and an assist in the
Red Wings' 2-1 win, had an MRI on Wednesday.

The Columbus Blue Jackets made their first roster moves of training
camp, returning two prospects to their respective junior clubs on
Wednesday.
Left winger Markus Soberg was sent back to Windsor of the Ontario
Hockey League and defenseman Blake Siebenaler returned to Niagara of
the OHL.

The San Jose Sharks reduced their training camp roster by three
players on Wednesday, according to general manager Doug Wilson.
Forward Jimmy Bonneau and goaltender Aaron Dell were sent to the
Worchester Sharks camp and goalie Ben Meisner was released from a
tryout contract, bringing the Sharks' roster to 45 players. (Editing
