Brats are the centerpiece of the German meal that anchors the event.

of apple strudel, German chocolate cake or angel food cake complete
the meal. Drinks include apple cider, lemonade, tea and coffee.
Serving times are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

with six or more pre-paid tickets. Drive-thru carry-out is also
provided off the 8th Street parking lot leading to the Church Bus
Barn.
The Alley Kats Band plays that great “oom-pah-pah” music from 11
a.m. to 3 p.m. Polka is the specialty but the repertoire is varied.
The band, entertaining at Germanfest for the sixth year, is under
the direction of electronic accordion player Terry J. Dutko of
Granite City, who organized the group over 20 years ago.
