McMurtrey is a Central Illinois native who graduated from
Greenville College with degrees in communication, public relations
and English. As a former collegiate athlete, she is particularly
interested in enhancing sports tourism for Logan County. She is
excited to begin working in Logan County and is thrilled to become
better acquainted with members of the community.

The Tourism Bureau had an outstanding response to the call for
qualified applicants for the director position. McMurtrey was the
hiring committee’s unanimous top choice. “The committee was so
impressed with Maggie’s professionalism and her high
recommendations. The group felt that she would have no issues
connecting with the community and be a strong leader and advocate
for Logan County Tourism.”, said Andi Hake, president and CEO of the
Logan County Alliance, who was a member of the hiring committee.
McMurtrey will begin her duties on Monday, April 6, 2015. She is
anticipating relocating to Logan County by the end of April. Her top
priorities are to meet with and build relationships with key
stakeholders in Logan County Tourism, get the Tourism Bureau
actively engaged in the largest tourist events in Logan County
throughout the summer event season, and to continue the execution of
the strategic marketing plan that was developed in 2014 by DCC
			Marketing.
