both right and left guard during his four-year career for the
Longhorns, playing in a total of 47 career games. He was released on
Aug. 3 and subsequently signed by the Chargers less than a week
later. The Chargers waived Huey at the end of training camp, and the
guard spent the next three seasons starring for the Arizona Rattlers

NFL Note - Carolina Panthers Trusnik, Jason
LB Jason Trusnik left the Dolphins for the Panthers as an
unrestricted free agent Tuesday (March 31), signing a one-year
contract.
The eight-year NFL veteran spent the previous four seasons with the
Miami Dolphins. Last year, he started five of 16 games and had 39
tackles, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble
recoveries.
"I see the camaraderie that the players and coaches and general
manger have here -- the vision they have for their team, what kind
of people they bring in and their attitude about winning," Trusnik
said. "I think that says a lot about the Carolina Panthers and what
they have going here. I look forward to being a part of that.
"Where this team is headed, what they have done these past couple of
years going to the playoffs, I'm excited to be a part of that and
know there is more to be done here."
Trusnik began his career with the New York Jets in 2007 as an
undrafted rookie free agent from Ohio Northern and also spent time
with the Cleveland Browns before landing in Miami. In 109 NFL games,
he has 146 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries and an
additional 76 tackles on special teams.
"Jason is an experienced player who adds more competition to the

Even though he is new to us, he's got veteran savvy to him."

the Colts.

Tennessee Titans before signing with the Ravens.
The 33-year-old Schaub gives the Ravens a veteran behind Flacco. The
only other quarterbacks currently on the Baltimore roster are
inexperienced Keith Wenning and Bryn Renner.
Schaub struggled with elbow tendinitis last season with the Raiders
and completed only 5 of 10 passes for 57 yards and two interceptions
with no touchdowns. He spent the previous seven seasons as the
starter for the Houston Texans and was with the Atlanta Falcons from
2004 to 2006.
The Raiders released Schaub on March 16 after signing Christian

signed Smith as an unrestricted free agent last year from the
Houston Texans.

tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble. But the team chose not to

returning to Houston, where he played in 79 regular-season games for
the Texans from 2009 to 2013.
There also could be interest in Smith from the Denver Broncos. He
played under new Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, defensive
coordinator Wade Phillips and defensive line coach Bill Kollar when
they were with the Texans.
