Zach Trotman's first NHL goal with 2:08 remaining earned Boston a
rousing come-from-behind victory over Detroit at Joe Louis Arena,
lifting the Bruins into a third-place tie with their opponents in
the Atlantic Division.
Center Carl Soderberg had a goal and an assist and right winger Loui
Eriksson also scored for Boston (40-25-13). Right wingers Reilly
Smith and Brett Connolly had two assists each and goalie Tuukka Rask
made 35 saves.
Center Stephen Weiss had a goal and an assist and right winger Luke
Glendening scored for Detroit (40-24-13), who enjoyed a 2-0 lead
early in the third. Goaltender Petr Mrazek made 22 saves.

Senators 2, Lightning 1 (OT)
Defenseman Patrick Wiercioch scored with a slap shot from the top of
the right-wing faceoff circle 16.9 seconds from the end of overtime
to give Ottawa victory over Tampa Bay at Canadian Tire Centre.
The victory allowed the Senators to keep pace with the Boston
Bruins, who defeated the Detroit Red Wings. Ottawa still trails
Boston by three points in the race for the final wild card spot in
the East, although they have a game in hand.

Blue Jackets 4, Islanders 3 (SO)
Center Ryan Johansen scored the tying goal in regulation and added a
goal in the shootout, leading Columbus to a win over the New York
Islanders at Nationwide Arena.
Columbus also got goals from center Brandon Dubinsky and defenseman
Jack Johnson, while center Mark Letestu scored in the shootout.
Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky made 25 saves in regulation
and overtime, then stopped right winger Kyle Okposo and center Frans
Nielsen in the shootout.

Panthers 6, Hurricanes 1
Florida staved off potential elimination from the NHL playoff race,
defeating Carolina at the BB&T Center.
The Panthers got two goals from center Vincent Trocheck. Also
scoring for Florida, were defenseman Willie Mitchell, center Brandon
Pirri, right winger Jaromir Jagr and center Aleksander Barkov.

Rangers 3, Wild 2
Center J.T. Miller's defelected goal in the third period was the
difference as the New York Rangers let an early lead slip away but
survived to beat Minnesota.
Already assured of a playoff spot, New York clinched the
Metropolitan Division title with the victory.

Capitals 5, Canadiens 4 (SO)
Right winger Troy Brouwer scored the shootout winner to lead
Washington over Montreal at the Bell Centre.
Left winger Alex Ovechkin and right winger Joel Ward each scored
twice in regulation for Washington and defensemen Jeff Petry, Tom
Gilbert and P.K. Subban, and center Lars Eller scored in regulation
for the Canadiens.

Blues 4, Flames 1
Left winger Jaden Schwartz scored one goal and assisted on another
to lead St Louis over Calgary.
The Blues, who clinched a playoff spot with the win, also got goals
from center Paul Stastny, right winger Patrik Berglund and center
Jori Lehtera.

Blackhawks 3, Canucks 1
Center Marcus Kruger's backhand shot at 10:31 of the third at the
United Center helped Chicago clinch a berth in the playoffs with a
win over Vancouver.
Blackhawks centers Jonathan Toews and Teuvo Teravainen also scored
in the game. Right winger Derek Dorsett scored for Vancouver.
