Rangers 4, Blue Jackets 3 (Overtime)
After tying the game in the dying seconds of regulation, center
Derek Stepan scored with 49.6 seconds remaining in overtime as the
New York Rangers rallied to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Stepan scored the winner after Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei
Bobrovsky left a juicy rebound in front of the net. He sent the game
into overtime with goaltender Henrik Lundqvist on the bench for an
extra skater.
The Blue Jackets (39-35-5) had their nine-game winning streak
snapped.
Martin St. Louis and defenseman Dan Girardi also scored for the
Rangers (51-21-7), who still hold the league's best record.
Lundqvist stopped 29 of 32 shots.

Jets 2, Wild 0
Needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, the Winnipeg Jets
played like a desperate team, out-working and out-scoring the
reeling Minnesota Wild.
Drew Stafford and Blake Wheeler scored, while goalie Ondrej Pavelec
turned in a 32-save performance, as the Jets improved their odds of
a first playoff trip since the NHL returned to Winnipeg in 2011.
Minnesota, which could have clinched a Western Conference playoff
spot with a win, got 32 saves from goalie Devan Dubnyk.
The Wild can still make their third consecutive playoff trip with a
win in any of their three remaining road games.

Canucks 2, Kings 1 (Shootout)
Chris Higgins scored in a shootout as the Vancouver Canucks defeated
the Los Angeles Kings in an NHL game with a playoff feel.
Daniel Sedin tied the game 1-1 for Vancouver at 9:54 of the third,
forcing overtime.
Canucks goaltender Eddie Lack made 36 saves, while Kings goaltender
Jonathan Quick stopped 37 shots.
The Canucks' record improved to 46-29-5 for 97 points.
The Kings remain in the playoff hunt with a 39-25-15 mark for 93
points.

Stars 5, Sharks 1
The Dallas Stars beat the San Jose Sharks in a game that really had
no winner.
Minutes before the opening faceoff, the Winnipeg Jets beat the
Minnesota Wild, a result that eliminated both the Sharks and Stars
from the Stanley Cup playoff chase.
It was probably more of a surprise for San Jose considering the
Sharks owned the second-longest streak of reaching the playoffs with
10 straight, second only to Detroit's 23 in a row.
Jamie Benn scored two goals to lead the Stars. (Editing by Jahmal
