[April 09, 2015]  LINCOLN - Robert L. Thomas, 82, passed away at 11:40 a.m. on April 2, 2015 at Friendship Manor in Lincoln.

Visitation:  From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday April 6, 2015 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 7, 2015 at the funeral home.

Obituary

Robert L. Thomas, 82, passed away at 11:40 a.m. on April 2, 2015 at Friendship Manor in Lincoln.

Robert was born on March 21, 1933 in Bloomington; son of William R. and Eva Thomas. He married Maria “Nan” Quinones on September 26, 1952 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She preceded him in death on April 24, 1994.

Robert is survived by his children: William R. (Tammy) Thomas of Sublette, Kansas, Steven M. (Martha) Thomas of Farmington, New Mexico, and Nancy Kleinman of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and his special friend: Jessie Rankin. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Robert Jr.; two brothers: Eldin and Charles; and one sister Marie.

 

Robert served in the U.S. Navy and was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 26 years before retiring.

Services for Robert will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 7, 2015 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln with Rev. Dr. William R. Thomas officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday April 6, 2015 also at the funeral home. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery will follow the service where full military rites will be accorded. Memorials may be given to Carroll Catholic School or Friendship Manor.
