			Iowa to take Grimm's spot in the bullpen. 
			 
			Grimm, 26, had yet to appear in a game for the Cubs this season. He 
			went 5-2 with a 3.78 ERA over 69 innings in 73 relief appearances 
			last season. 
			 
			The 29-year-old Schlitter went 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA over 56 1/3 
			innings in 61 appearances for the Cubs last season.

			The Minnesota Twins plan to place right-hander Ricky Nolasco on the 
			15-day disabled list Saturday because of inflammation in his right

			Right-hander Trevor May will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester and 
			start against the Kansas City Royals in the Twins' home opener on 
			Monday at Target Field. 
			 
			Nolasco (0-1) felt pain while pitching Wednesday in an 11-0 loss at 
			the Detroit Tigers. He gave up six runs, six hits and four walks in 
			three-plus innings. 
			 
			An MRI showed no structural damage, manager Paul Molitor said Friday 
			before the Twins opened a weekend series against the White Sox in 
			Chicago.

			Texas Rangers starting pitcher Derek Holland left the team's home 
			opener against the Houston Astros after one inning Friday with 
			stiffness in the back of his left shoulder, and right fielder Choo 
			Shin-soo departed in the second inning with back spasms. 
			 
			Choo is expected to be listed as day-to-day.

			The Cleveland Indians promoted first baseman/outfielder Jerry Sands 
			from Columbus and optioned right-handed reliever Austin Adams to the 
			Triple-A club. 
			 
			The Indians also transferred right-hander Josh Tomlin from the 
			15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL. He underwent successful 
			arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder Wednesday and is expected 
			to need 12-16 weeks to rehab. 
			 
			Sands, 27, spent the entire exhibition season in major league camp 
			with Cleveland, hitting .304 (14-for-46) with a double, two home 
			runs and seven RBIs in 22 games.

			Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter will leave the team briefly 
			later this month to attend a memorial service for his father-in-law, 
			who died Thursday. 
			 
			Showalter is expected to travel to Nashville for the service around 
			April 25. The Orioles host a series against the Boston Red Sox from 
			April 24 to April 26. 
			 
			The Orioles are 2-2 after a 12-5 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on
