In the first game, Lowery pitched five innings, struck out eleven
batters and allowed no earned runs. The Toppers pounded out 14 hits
and scored 11 runs off losing Generals pitcher Tony Kinney.
Lowery and Matt Amidon both had three hits, while Beau Collier,
Blake Collier and Brett Huff had two hits apiece. Aaron Durchholz
and Eli Griesheim had one hit each in the 11-1 win.
In the second contest, Brett Huff pitched four innings, struck out
five batters and only allowed one earned run.
The Toppers hammered out a total of 13 hits in game two and scored
nine runs alone in the third inning off losing Generals pitcher Jake
Gray. In that nine run inning, Lowery connected for a three run
homer while senior teammate Aaron Durchholz had a two run single.
Sophomore Eli Griesheim also contributed an RBI triple as the
Toppers batted a dozen times in the inning.

At the end of game two, Brayden Curry was the hitting star for the
Toppers, going 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 3 runs batted in. Beau
Collier was 3 for 5 for the Toppers with 3 RBIs. Amidon, Huff and
freshman Peyton Taylor also collected hits for the Toppers in the
16-6 win.
Mount Pulaski improves to 7-6 on the season. The Toppers will travel
to Cerro Gordo Tuesday for a 4:30 pm game.
