			Rod Thorn, who is on his second tour of duty as the NBA's president 
			of basketball operations, plans to retire in August, Yahoo Sports 
			reported Tuesday. 
			 
			In August 2013, Thorn, 73, returned to the league office to 
			administer the league's daily operations under new commissioner Adam 
			Silver. The plan was to have Thorn provide a two-year bridge to a 
			long-term successor.
