For the last few years, Devin
Biggs of Lincoln has submitted photos to LDN from time to time. Most
of his photos are connected to one of his favorite pastimes, storm
			watching.

Last Thursday, Devin had an opportunity to do something new and
exciting. He was invited to go with friends who are involved in
			meteorology in a storm chase.

After studying the radar the team decided to go into Iowa to
intercept the storm that would eventually be the one that hit hard
			in Northern Illinois.

Devin said as a first ever experience, it was a very exciting time
for him. He of course had his camera and grabbed a few shots as they
			were approaching the storm.

In the professional weather world, storms chasers with the proper
equipment and knowledge provide important information about the
			moment-by-moment movements of a storm.

This has benefited the public in that their research has helped
scientists to understand tornadoes and to be able to more accurately
predict how a storm is going to affect those in its pathway.

Devin is a Lincoln Community High School graduate and is now
attending Western Illinois University in Macomb.
