Obituary
HUDSON- Kathryn “Kathy” Jo Lessen Hickey, 48, passed
away at 6:08 P.M. on April 9, 2015 at her home.
Kathy was born on November 8, 1966 in Lincoln;
daughter of Larry Joe and Beverly Hart Lessen. She
was united in marriage to William Hickey on November
23, 1985 in Lincoln. He survives her in Hudson.
Other survivors include her daughters: Kristy Hickey
of Hudson; Breanna (Joel) Lopez-Morales of Hudson;
and Sara Hickey (fiancé Joe Reindl) of El Paso;
siblings: Jeanne (PC) Scheurer of Hartsburg; Robert
Lessen (Jill Baker) of Bloomington; grandchildren:
Kayden Lopez-Morales and Lucas Hickey; and several
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her
grandparents: Arnold and Helen Heins and Joe and
Bernice Lessen; and her niece: Britni Lessen.
Kathy worked at State Farm Insurance corporate
office in Bloomington as a tax analyst for 25 years.
She was continuing her education at Heartland
Community College where she was soon to earn her
Bachelor’s Degree. Kathy loved spending time with
her family, especially her grandchildren. |
Services for Kathy will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
April 14, 2015 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home, Lincoln with Roger David officiating. A
private burial will be at a later date. Memorials
may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research or
Make a Wish Foundation.
