Right-hander Kyle Gibson gave up one run in 6 2/3 innings and helped
the Minnesota Twins to a 3-1 win over the Kansas City Royals.
The loss ended Kansas City's season-opening winning streak at seven
games and halted Minnesota's three-game skid.

Rockies 4, Giants 2
The Colorado Rockies struck early and received strong pitching to
beat the San Francisco Giants 4-2 and win a sixth straight game at
the outset of their road season for the first time in club history.
The defending World Series champions lost six straight games in the
season's opening month for the first time since April 10-16, 2009.

Dodgers 5, Mariners 2
Left fielder Scott Van Slyke drove in two runs, and the Los Angeles
Dodgers capped their sweep of the Seattle Mariners with a 5-2
victory.
Brett Anderson (1-0) allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits with
three strikeouts and a walk in five-plus innings as the Dodgers
(6-3) won their fourth in a row.

Tigers 1, Pirates 0
Alfredo Simon allowed two hits in eight innings and Rajai Davis
homered for the only run as the Detroit Tigers defeated the
Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0 for their fourth shutout of the season.
The Tigers (8-1) blanked the Pirates for the second straight night
to take two games in the three-game series.

Orioles 7, Yankees 5
Baltimore's Manny Machado and Jonathan Schoop each homered, while
Chris Davis had three RBIs, to lead the Orioles past the New York
Yankees 7-5.
Yankees designated hitter Alex Rodriguez homered and is now four
home runs away from tying Willie Mays for fourth place on the
all-time home run list with 660.

Angels 10, Rangers 2
The Los Angeles Angels jumped on Texas spot starter Anthony Ranaudo
for six runs in the second inning on their way to a 10-2 victory
over the Rangers.
Ranaudo, who was acquired from the Boston Red Sox in the offseason,
retired just five batters, walked two and allowed six hits and six
earned runs in 1 2/3 innings.

Nationals 10, Red Sox 5
The struggling Washington Nationals, picked by many to go to the
2015 World Series, pounded out a 10-5 interleague victory over the
Boston Red Sox to avert a three-game sweep.
Catcher Wilson Ramos drilled a three-run double to key a six-run
third inning and shortstop Ian Desmond and left fielder Tyler Moore
homered as the Nats raised their early-season record to 3-6.

Indians 4, White Sox 2
Trevor Bauer pitched six strong innings and Lonnie Chisenhall had
two hits and two RBIs as the Cleveland Indians snapped their
four-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Chicago White
Sox.
Bauer (2-0) held the White Sox to two runs on four hits with eight
strikeouts and four walks.

Marlins 6, Braves 2
Miami shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria celebrated his 26th birthday with
three hits to help the Marlins to a 6-2 win over the Atlanta Braves.
Hechavarria went 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, scored two runs,
drove in three and hit his first home run of the season.

Mets 6, Phillies 1
First baseman Lucas Duda homered and delivered an RBI double as the
New York Mets completed a three-game sweep of the Philadelphia
Phillies with a 6-1 victory.
The Mets (6-3) won their fourth successive game. They had just three
four-game winning streaks last season. The Phillies (3-6) have lost
four in a row.

Blue Jays 12, Rays 7
The Toronto Blue Jays ended their offensive mini-slump in a 12-7
victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
After being held to just three runs total over the first two games
of the series against Tampa Bay, Toronto scored multiple runs in
each of the first five innings.

Padres 3, Diamondbacks 2
Justin Upton homered to left-center with two out in the bottom of
the eighth Wednesday night to give the San Diego Padres a 3-2
victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Upton's third homer as a Padre -- and his second in as many nights
-- came on the first pitch he saw from Diamondbacks' right-handed
reliever Ronald Delgado and soared 383 feet.

Left-hander Travis Wood scattered three hits and struck out seven in
seven-plus scoreless innings as Chicago blanked Cincinnati.

Houston shortstop Jed Lowrie blasted a home run and drove in three
runs against his former team as the Astros salvaged a game from the
home series with a 6-1 win over the Oakland Athletics.

Starter Lance Lynn allowed one run in five innings for his 50th
career win and the St. Louis Cardinals beat Milwaukee 4-2. The
