QB Tim Tebow was signed by the Eagles
to a one-year contract Monday (April 20), more than two years
removed from his last NFL action.
The Eagles made it official after news broke Sunday evening of the
agreement.
Tebow, 27, worked out for the Eagles on March 16 and was scheduled
to participate in Philadelphia's offseason workouts, which began
Monday.
Tebow will join an Eagles' quarterback group that includes Sam
Bradford, Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and G.J. Kinne.
Since last appearing in a game for the New York Jets in 2012, Tebow
joined ESPN as an analyst for the SEC Network in 2014, where he
primarily worked on "SEC Nation."
Originally a first-round draft choice (25th overall) of the Denver
Broncos in 2010, the 6-foot-3, 236-pound Tebow has appeared in 35
games with 16 starts.
Tebow started three games for the Broncos as a rookie in 2010,
throwing for 654 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for
227 yards and six touchdowns on 43 carries. His 82.1 passer rating
was the highest of the eight rookie quarterbacks that started a game
in 2010.
In 2011, Tebow tied for second among NFL quarterbacks with six
game-winning drives and helped guide the Broncos to an AFC West
title and the team's first playoff berth since 2005, including a
postseason win. Tebow started the team's final 11 games, totaling
1,730 passing yards and 12 touchdowns through the air, adding 660
rushing yards and six scores.
Following the 2011 season, Tebow was traded to the Jets and saw
action in 11 games with two starts, completing six of eight passes
for 39 yards and rushing 32 times for 102 yards, serving as
Sanchez's backup.
Tebow was in training camp with the New England Patriots in August
2013 but did not make the team.
The first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy, Tebow was a
collegiate standout at the University of Florida, setting
Southeastern Conference records in total offense (12,232), rushing
touchdown (57) and total touchdowns (145). A three

NFL Note - Minnesota Vikings Peterson, Adrian
RB Adrian Peterson, who was reinstated by the NFL on Friday, did not
attend the start of the team's offseason workouts Monday (April 20).
The Vikings had not been expecting Peterson to show up at their
facility. The Pioneer Press reported it has nothing to do with
Peterson being disgruntled because he has rarely been present for
the offseason program.
Sid Hartman of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune wrote Sunday that
Peterson would receive $250,000 if he reported to the Vikings camp,
but "nobody expects him to report under any circumstances."
Peterson returned to active status for the first time since
September, when child-abuse charges involving his 4-year-old son led
to seven months on the sideline.
Peterson was informed via a letter from NFL commissioner Roger
Goodell that he is expected to satisfy his obligations to
authorities in Minnesota and Texas, as well as additional counseling
and treatment commitments Peterson made April 7 during a meeting
with Goodell, the league said in a statement Thursday.
Peterson and his agent, Ben Dogra, have made it clear that the
30-year-old running back does not want to stay with Minnesota. The
teams that have been floated as possible landing spots for Peterson
are the Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders.
However, the Vikings have said repeatedly that Peterson is under
contract, they have no plans to trade him and expect him to play for
the Vikings this season.
Peterson's contract calls for a $12.75 million salary this season
and doesn't expire for three more years.
Peterson has spent his entire career with the Vikings. Since being
drafted out of Oklahoma in 2007, he has rushed for 10,190 yards and
scored 86 touchdowns.

NFL Note - Miami Dolphins Suh, Ndamukong
DT Ndamukong Suh, who rarely participated in offseason workouts
while with the Detroit Lions, was present Monday on the first day of
the Miami Dolphins' offseason program.
Suh signed a six-year $114 million contract -- $59.995 million
guaranteed -- with the Dolphins last month, making him the
highest-paid defender in NFL history.
With the Lions, Suh preferred to stay home and work out with a
personal trainer.
The Dolphins' non-mandatory offseason program mostly starts with
strength work during the first week. There is no on-field work from
coaches for the first two weeks at the team's Davie, Fla., facility.
Suh will earn $60 million through the first three years --
surpassing the $51.8 million in guaranteed money the Houston Texans
gave defensive lineman J.J. Watt as part of a six-year, $100 million
deal last offseason. The overall value of Suh's deal surpasses
Watt's contract.
Suh enjoyed the best season of his career in 2014. He had 8.5 sacks
and was instrumental in the Lions having the top rushing defense in
the league.
The No. 2 overall draft pick out of Nebraska in 2010, Suh has 36
career sacks and helped the Lions make two playoff appearances.

NFL Note - Pittsburgh Steelers Brown, Antonio
WR Antonio Brown plans to skip the Steelers' offseason workouts
starting Monday as he seeks a new contract.
FOX Sports reported Brown is also thinking about not attending the
team's three-day mandatory minicamp starting June 16 and training
camp beginning at the end of July.
Brown, 26, signed a five-year, $42.5 million extension with
Pittsburgh in 2012 and then restructured his contract last season.
Brown, who is not scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent
until after the 2017 season, made $5.285 million last season and is
scheduled to make $6 million for the 2015 season.
The 5-foot-10, 186-pound Brown, a sixth-round draft pick of the
Steelers in 2010, led the NFL with 129 catches for 1,698 yards last
season and had 13 receiving touchdowns. He also had 319 punt return
yards with one touchdown. In his five seasons, Brown has 390 catches
for 5,259 yards and 28 touchdowns.

NFL Note - Jacksonville Jaguars Wisniewski, Stefen
C Stefen Wisniewski left the Raiders for the Jaguars Saturday (April
18), agreeing to terms on a one-year, $2.5 million contract.
The 6-foot-3, 307-pound Wisniewski was a second-round selection by
the Oakland Raiders in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Penn State. He
started all four seasons with the Raiders, starting 16 games as a
rookie and 16 games this past season. He started 15 games in 2012
and 14 in 2013.
"We had the opportunity to spend time with Stefen earlier this month
and remained in contact with him with the hopes of getting a deal
done," Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said in a statement.
"We are excited to get him on board before we officially start our
offseason conditioning program next week. He gives us great position
flexibility along our offensive line as he has started at both
center and guard during his career. He has a familiarity with our
offensive system and brings a lot of experience to our offensive
line room."
